Shannon Walsh Hugs for Days July 19, 2013
Dear Nick,

I feel blessed to have been able share the last few years with you.    I will remember you for the kind spirited, warm hearted, smiling goofball you were.  It helps heal the pain a bit to know you are at peace, hopefully listening to music with your feet up and smiling that smile everyone has been talking about.

While it is hard knowing I'll never be able to hold your hand or get one of your enormous hugs after a long day, I will cherish those memories.  Moose keeps making me smile and think of you becuase it seems you taught him to cuddle just like you - directly on top of me.

I miss you, I love you.  This will be hard, but I know you will be here to help us all get through this - you wouldn't be anywhere else.

Love,
Shannon
Mom Beautiful Baby Boy July 18, 2013
First of all thank you to all who have shared on this wall. Means so much to our family. Nicky had such a big happy smile and will be missed more than words can say. I am so happy that my last memory was of Nicky coming to my home in South Carolina for Mothers Day, we had a great visit and will be a memory I will treasure forever. I know the short time he was with all of us he did make a difference in so many lives. Be at Peace Nick, we will meet again.

Love you to the stars and back,
Mom

You were one of the most positive and generous people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. You were constantly smiling and you had this inner light that shined so bright it would light up any room that you were in. Your light will be truly missed in this world. With love, Rachel

I remember when we first became friends, I knew we would become more like family. We spent so many years making awesome memories in Durango and we saw some pretty epic music together all over this country. You were always the best wing man. Your laugh, your smile, your hugs...things I will always remember and cherish. I am so blessed to have known you and I love you so much! You're spirit will always shine on my friend.

Adam Stanton One Story and So Much Laughter July 12, 2013

I won tickets to see Morcheeba at The House of Blues on February 22, 2011.http://chicagomusicseen.blogspot.com/2011/02/morcheeba-at-house-of-blues-on-22211.html
I put a post on FB to see if anyone wanted to go, preferably a D.D., and Cookie Puss hit me up and said he was in. We met at my place and chatted a bit with my wife and kids when I thanked him for taking me up on the offer. His reply in true Cookie fashion was “Let’s do it brother, cause that’s what’s up!” We headed to the City early to park and hit up a bar. He drove the wife’s ride and we laughed about random stupidness all the way to the city. We had a drink at a dive bar that was walking distance from The House of Blues. We grabbed our tickets at will-call and made our way to the floor. A friend of mine was the opener. She opened up with a DJ set (this is how I got the free tickets.)
The band started almost 2 hours late and I was knocking them back and Cookie was cracking me up as usual. The band eventually took stage and they were amazing, Cookie was digging the band he had never seen before. Every so often Cookie would disappear, bring me a beer, and have something else to eat in his hand. At one point I was convinced he had eaten one of everything they had available. I turned to him laughing over the music and said, “Dude what haven’t you eaten yet?” He smiled and said MY TOOTH!! WTF….. His tooth fell out and he had a big ass gap in his grill and I lost it. He tossed his tooth in his pocket and just kept munching. I almost fell down from laughing so hard.
Eventually the show ended and he drove us home. We were passing through Barrington and got pulled over. He looked and me and said, "This ought to be fun!" and smiled at me with no tooth. I started laughing hysterically. The officer came up to the car and we explained where we were coming from and that Cookie was my DD but, I could not stop laughing.
He passed the sobriety test with no problems but because of his missing GD front tooth the cop was convinced he had to take us to the train…. We got in the back of the police car with a hard plastic backseat that smelled like puke. The onslaught of laughter continued all the way to the Barrington train station. We rode the train to Cary, stopped for a drink, and laughed all the way to my place.
In the morning I left him asleep on the couch, as I had to hitch a ride back to my wife’s vehicle in Barrington, and go to work. Needless to say, the next time I saw Cookie Puss, we told all of our friends the whole, very animated story, and my face hurt from all the laughter! Peace out NICKI

Rebecca Bishop Best Roommate Ever July 12, 2013
We will never forget the many memories we've shared over the years.  One of our favorite times was when we had our infamous scooter gang in Key West and you popped a wheelie into a parked car.  We shared many laughs and good conversations in our "hotel" apartement and during the many trips to Durango and Cloverdale.  You have helped us through some tough times and will always be a true friend.  You are like a brother to us and will always have a big place in our hearts.  We miss you and love you!

Katie Felz Look After Us July 11, 2013
I had heard so many wonderful things about you before we had even met.  Stories of you and G living in a trailor in Aspen.  All the fun adventures that G shared with me made me feel like I had known you all my life.  We met in Durango on a family trip during Christmas time.  One of the things that I will never forget was your comforting hug and giant smile that everyone who knows you has spoken about.

That night we all went out to a local pub.  Dara and I were playing pool and some (not so nice) guys were giving us a hard time.  You and Chad didn't even bat an eye to stick up for us.  I knew right then and there that you guys would become like brothers to me.

You were there to stand up in our wedding, you were there when we had our kids, you were there when we celebrated family holidays together.

Over the years your visits with us and the kids were times that I will always hold dear to my heart.  They will also be the days that we think of you and Nanny again and miss you.

Everyone would agree that you certainly had a way with little kids.  They all love you so much!  One of the hardests parts was having to tell them that you are now an angel looking down on us.

We all love you very much Nicky and will think of you often.  Please look after us all and keep us safe!

Much love,
Katie
Aunt Lou Missing you always!!!! July 10, 2013
Nicky

One of the best days in my life iis the day you were born.  A bond was created that can never be broken.  I encouraged your move to Colorado and you were there to encourage my move to Durango when I needed a serious change in my life.  I am so thankful for our time in Durango together.  Just hanging out, listening to music, watching you stir the pot while dancing - just living life to the fullest.  The Salmon River trip we took together was one of the best Aunt Lou and Nicky vacations ever!!!!You will forever be in my heart.  I love you and will miss you and your smile everyday of my life.    I LOVE YOU NICKY FELZ!!!      Aunt Lou
